Thematic Dialogue on Womens Political Participation

The Parliament of Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission and the Zimbabwe Gender Commission with support from International IDEA, WLSA and Padare hosted a multi- party women’s political participation dialogue in Nyanga from the 19th to the 22nd of April 2022.Women’s Caucus members were able to build consensus on common challenges that remain a hindrance to political participation and develop a strategy on how address these.

WLSA gave a presentation on the model gendered electoral law which provides alternative gender sensitive language that can be adopted to strengthen accountability on gender parity by political parties, electoral management body and addressing political party financing .
